DWI Checkpoint to be Conducted in Calcasieu Parish Ahead of the 4th of July Holiday 

Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana – The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office announced on June 29, 2022, that in an ongoing effort to keep the citizens of Calcasieu Parish safe, the CPSO will conduct a DWI checkpoint at an undisclosed location in the parish this Friday, July 1st.

According to the CPSO, this checkpoint will target individuals driving under the influence of alcohol and/or narcotics, which has been proven to be very effective in discouraging citizens from driving while impaired, and people are more likely to designate a driver when sobriety checkpoints are conducted.

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office indicated that this checkpoint is funded by a Louisiana Highway Safety Commission grant.
