Driving on 3 Wheels, Speeding, and Sleeping in a Running Vehicle While Intoxicated Lands 3 DWI Arrests in Less than 2 Hours by One Police Department

Shreveport, Louisiana – The Shreveport Police Department reported three DWI arrests in less than two hours during the early morning hours of March 24, 2023.

Officers approached Brandon Bates, 41, around 3:10 a.m. after he was reported driving 79 miles per hour in a 45-mile-per-hour zone. Officers reported that Bates had slurred speech and smelled of an alcoholic beverage when they spoke to him. He was arrested and charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated on one count.

The second incident happened at 4:30 a.m., when cops approached Barry White, 34. White was allegedly discovered sleeping behind the wheel of the automobile. The vehicle was still running, but it was no longer on the road. He was caught and charged with one count of operating a vehicle while intoxicated as well as marijuana possession.

Officers contacted Alexia Jackson, 26, at 5:09 a.m. and made the third arrest. Officers reportedly noticed Jackson driving a vehicle with only three wheels. She was believed to be inebriated as officers approached. She was arrested and charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated on one count.

The Shreveport Police Department wishes to remind the community to drink responsibly. 

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
