Driver and Toddler Injured in Two Vehicle Crash on I-49 in Natchitoches Parish

Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana – One driver and a toddler were injured in a two-vehicle crash on I-49 in Natchitoches Parish.

According to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office (NPSO), a female and a toddler were injured in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 49 near Derry, Louisiana.

Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Deputies, Louisiana State Police, Natchitoches Regional Medical Center EMS, and Natchitoches Parish Fire Protection District #1 First Responders responded to NATCOM 911 Center reports of a two-vehicle crash with possible injuries on I-49 (Southbound) near Derry, Louisiana, on Friday evening, April 7, 2023, at approximately 6:00 p.m.

Authorities arrived on the scene to find a two-vehicle collision with one vehicle off the road and the other partially obstructing the roadway. An adult female and a 3-year-old toddler were transported from the scene by EMS to a regional trauma hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

EMS treated the driver of a 2002 Ford Ranger at the scene and was released without transport.

Troopers with LSP Troop E investigated the crash.
