Details Released about Auto-Pedestrian Fatality on L’Acadie Drive in Lake Charles

On Tuesday, September 3rd, 2019 at approximately 7:02 pm, Officers from the Lake Charles Police Department were dispatched to the 1500 block of L’Acadie Drive in reference to an auto-pedestrian crash. Upon arrival, responding officers learned that a 5 year old juvenile had been struck by a vehicle, as the vehicle was entering a driveway.
Officers and emergency service personnel determined that the child had sustained non survivable injuries due to the crash and had passed away at the scene. The Lake Charles Police Department Traffic Division was notified and is handling the investigation with the assistance of the Calcasieu Parish Coroner’s Office. Impairment is not suspected as a factor in the crash but standard toxicology tests are pending on the driver of the vehicle.
