DeQuincy Fire Destroys Travel Trailer and Pickup Truck, Other Vehicles Saved Due to Quick Response

Quick Response from Multiple Fire Departments Contains Blaze on Lucius Marcantel Road

DeQuincy, Louisiana – A travel trailer was completely destroyed and a pickup truck heavily damaged in a structure fire that occurred on March 29 in DeQuincy, in the Ward Six Fire Protection District No. One service area.

At approximately 3:19 p.m., firefighters from Ward Six Fire Protection District No. One responded to reports of a travel trailer on fire on Lucius Marcantel Road. Upon arrival, Command Unit 901 found the travel trailer fully engulfed in flames. The fire had already spread to a nearby pickup truck, which was also heavily involved.

Through mutual aid agreements, DeQuincy Volunteer Fire Department and Houston River Fire Department responded to assist with the incident. The collaborative effort allowed firefighters to implement a defensive fire attack strategy, which focuses on containing the fire.

Due to the quick response and coordinated efforts, firefighters successfully contained the blaze before it could spread further. A tractor and another truck located in close proximity to the burning vehicles were successfully protected from damage by the firefighting teams.
