DeQuincy and Southwest Louisiana Residents Advised of 200+ Prescribed Burn

Prescribed Burn Planned for 200+ Acres North of DeQuincy, Louisiana

DeQuincy, Louisiana - The Ward Six Fire Protection District has announced that a prescribed burn will be conducted on a tract of land spanning over 200 acres north of DeQuincy, Louisiana. The specific location of the burn will be off Willson Road, which intersects with Coward Road.

Residents residing in the vicinity of Kelly Street and D Pruitt Road are advised that they may also see flames from the controlled fire. Furthermore, depending on the direction of the wind, residents in DeQuincy and nearby areas of Southwest Louisiana may also observe smoke in the air originating from the burn.

To ensure the safety and effectiveness of the operation, a contractor will be present on-site equipped with dozers and ATVs to monitor the progress of the prescribed burn.
