LaPlace, Louisiana, Louisiana – A deputy in Louisiana was injured while apprehending a suspect during a stolen vehicle incident in LaPlace.
The St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office stated on April 25, 2023, that a St. John Sheriff’s Office sergeant was hurt while attempting to arrest the driver of a stolen car in LaPlace, Louisiana.
The incident occurred during the morning of April 25 in the parking lot of a business in the 1600 block of West Airline Highway in LaPlace, Louisiana according to reports from authorities. The SJSO was notified of a stolen vehicle traveling on West Airline Highway in LaPlace around 11:15 a.m. The motorist allegedly exited the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot as the officer performed a traffic stop. As he caught the suspect, the sergeant suffered a leg laceration.
The officer is being treated at a nearby hospital and is in stable condition according to reports. Minor injuries were also sustained by the suspect.
