Deadly Officer Involved Shooting in Shreveport Being Investigated by Louisiana State Police

Shreveport, Louisiana – Louisiana State Police is investigating a deadly officer-involved shooting in Shreveport.

On May 29, 2023, Louisiana State Police (LSP) reported that the Shreveport Police Department responded to a welfare concern in the 7200 block of Old River Road soon after 1:30 p.m.

LSP reported that two officers arrived on the scene and encountered one male subject. During that interaction, there was reportedly an altercation, and shots were fired. That person was taken to Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport and later pronounced dead. During this event, no officers were wounded.

The Shreveport Police Department asked the Louisiana State Police to look into the officer-involved shooting. LSP said that Investigators are working hard to process the crime scene and obtain additional information.
