Daycare Worker in Louisiana Arrested Suspected of Abusing a Child at a Westlake Business

Westlake, Louisiana – A daycare worker in Louisiana has been arrested and is suspected of abusing a child at a Westlake business.

The Westlake Police Department reported on March 27, 2023, that on March 10, 2023, they were alerted of suspected child abuse at a local daycare. According to officials, a further inquiry revealed that an employee had allegedly abused a child in her care. On Monday, March 13, 2023, Detective Wright issued a search warrant for the local daycare as well as an arrest warrant for one count of Cruelty to a Juvenile on the suspect Maria A Reeves of Ragley Louisiana. Detective Wright issued a second arrest warrant for two counts of Cruelty to a Juvenile on Reeves on Thursday, March 16, 2023.

Reeves was booked into the Calcasieu Parish Correctional Center and her bond was set at $195,000.
Detective Wright is the lead investigator, and he is aided by Sr. Cpl. Stringer, officers Lognion and Quebodeaux..

Authorities indicated that the investigation is still ongoing, and other arrests may be made at a later date.
