CPPJ Announces Calcasieu Public Transit Services Unavailable Due to Mechanical Issues
Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana – The Calcasieu Parish Police Jury (CPPJ) has announced that the Calcasieu Public Transit Services will be unavailable until further notice due to mechanical issues.
On April 24, 2023, the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury announced that Calcasieu Public Transit Services will have service interruptions until further notice. The interruptions are due to unforeseen mechanical issues, the Calcasieu Public Transit buses are currently unavailable, and service will be severely limited in the near future.
CPPJ indicated that Transit officials will be calling all scheduled riders to advise them of the service interruptions and to attempt to make alternate arrangements.
Parish officials will provide updates as service resumes.
The issues do not impact municipal transit services.
Sponsored by the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury and the Department of Transportation and Development, the program offers curbside transportation service – for all parish residents in both rural and urban areas – for such purposes as healthcare appointments, shopping trips, employment, classes, and educational opportunities.
