Controlled Burn at Kisatchie National Forest & Other Areas Causing Smoke in Southwest Louisiana

On January 6, 2022, residents reported seeing heavy smoke around Southwest Louisiana. The smoke is being caused by a controlled burn at Kisatchie National Forest, as well as other smaller controlled burns northeast of our area. Winds have carried the smoke to SWLA.
