Click It or Ticket Child Passenger Safety Seat Checks and Giveaway Event in Lake Charles
Lake Charles, Louisiana – In conjunction with the upcoming nationwide Click It or Ticket initiative, Louisiana State Police Troop D and the Louisiana Passenger Safety Task Force will provide free child passenger safety seat checks in Lake Charles on Saturday, May 21, 2022. From 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., the event will be held at Southwest Beverage, 3860 Broad Street in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Nationally certified child passenger safety seat technicians will inspect child safety seats and assist with proper installation.
The Lake Charles Junior League has also provided a limited number of free child passenger safety seats to caregivers in need. Each vehicle is limited to one free seat.
When used correctly, child safety seats and booster seats save lives. In the event of a collision, they provide the best protection for children. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration of the United States Department of Transportation, the use of child restraints has saved nearly 9,000 lives over the last 30 years (NHTSA). Every trip, caregivers must ensure that children are properly restrained in an appropriate child safety seat, booster seat, or seat belt.
The Lake Charles Junior League makes this event possible. Southwest Beverage and the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission have also contributed.
