Sulphur, Louisiana – In a recent announcement, the City of Sulphur revealed that it will be the recipient of 10 trash receptacles through the 2024 Trash Receptacle Grant Program by Keep Louisiana Beautiful. This initiative aims to enhance the cleanliness and sustainability of communities across the state.

The 10 trash receptacles will be strategically placed in areas of Sulphur identified by city officials as experiencing high foot traffic and in need of waste management solutions. The City hopes that by providing these receptacles, citizens will be encouraged to properly dispose of their trash, contributing to a cleaner and more pleasant environment for all.

Four of the trash receptacles are slated to be installed in the new Downtown Sulphur Cultural District, adding to the aesthetic appeal of the area while promoting responsible waste disposal practices. Another four receptacles will find their place in Heritage Square, a popular gathering spot for residents and visitors alike.

For the convenience of patients, visitors, and staff, one trash receptacle will be placed in close proximity to the West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital. Additionally, another receptacle will be stationed near the Library on Cypress Street, ensuring that patrons have easy access to waste disposal while enjoying the resources and services offered by the library.
