City of Sulphur Provides Update on Hurricane Debris Collection and Final Pass

Published February 25, 2021

The City of Sulphur has provided an update on hurricane debris collection and when the final pass will occur in the city.

From the City of Sulphur – To date, the City’s debris removal contractor has collected nearly 800,000 cubic yards of hurricane debris across the city limits of Sulphur. The final pass for debris collection will begin on Sunday, March 7, 2021, and we are advising residents to place remaining hurricane debris at the public right of way no later than Saturday, March 6, 2021.

Any debris placed at the right-of-way after the last pass will not be collected and disposal will become the responsibility of the property owner.

Some smaller pieces of debris that cannot be picked up by the truck’s claw may remain and disposal will become the responsibility of the property owner. These items may be bagged and placed into your residential garbage container for collection.
