Sulphur, Louisiana – In response to the ongoing inclement weather, the City of Sulphur has taken proactive measures to assist residents by making sand and sandbags available at the vacant parking lot located behind St. Francis de Sales Oratory on the corner of South Ruth Street and Cypress Street. This initiative aims to help residents prepare for potential flooding and protect their properties. It is advised that individuals bring their own shovels to fill the sandbags effectively.

Additionally, the City of Sulphur Public Works Department is currently engaged in a comprehensive inspection and cleaning process of drainage structures across the city. This ongoing effort is vital in ensuring that the drainage system remains clear and functional, reducing the risk of flooding during periods of heavy rainfall.

Residents are urged to remain vigilant and stay informed about weather updates and advisories to effectively respond to changing conditions.
