City of Sulphur Hurricane Debris Pickup Update

The City of Sulphur has released a hurricane debris pickup update including information about both commercial and residential debris.

From the City of Sulphur – As of January 28, 2021, the City’s contractor has picked up approximately 765,000 cubic yards of hurricane debris across the City limits of Sulphur.

• Monday, February 1^st, we will begin pick up for commercial debris along state routes within the City limits of Sulphur. This will be a one-time-only collection for those eligible businesses along state routes. Any debris placed at the right-of-way after this pass will not be collected and disposal will become the responsibility of the property owner.
• Residential pick-up continues, but we are nearing the last pick-up of the city. We are still currently advising residents to get the remainder of their debris to the public right-of-way as soon as possible.
• We will notify residents of the start date for the last pick-up for residential hurricane debris as soon as it is available. Any debris placed at the right-of-way after the last pass will not be collected and disposal will become the responsibility of the property owner.
