City of Lake Charles Announces Trash Collection and Office Schedules in Observance of Mardi Gras Holiday
Lake Charles, Louisiana – The City of Lake Charles has announced the trash collection and office schedules in observance of the Mardi Gras holiday.
The offices of the City of Lake Charles will be closed on Tuesday, February 21, 2023, for the Mardi Gras holiday. On that day, there will also be no collection of trash or waste.
The following modifications have been made to the trash collection schedule:
On Wednesday, February 22, 2023, trash and waste collection will be rescheduled from Tuesday.
Monday, Thursday, and Friday routes will operate according to their regular timetables.
On Tuesday, February 21, 2023, none of the Recycling stations will be accessible, including the Team Green Recycling Truck and the Incinerator. On Wednesday, February 23, 2023, they will resume regular operating hours.
In observance of Mardi Gras, City Hall and all other services of the Department of Public Works will also be closed on Tuesday, February 21, 2023, and will reopen on Wednesday, February 22, 2023.
As a reminder, containers and other things to be collected must be set out before 7 a.m. on collection day or the evening before collection day. On the day of collection, containers must be removed no later than 7 p.m.
The owner, occupant, tenant, etc. is liable for cleaning up any container spills.
