VINTON, La. — Center Street at Gum Cove Road in front of Glen’s Mart has reopened to traffic after being shut down for several hours on March 3, due to an overturned 18-wheeler, according to the Vinton Police Department.
Police reported that the roadway, a local connector used by residents and commercial traffic, was closed at approximately 11 a.m. following the crash. The 18-wheeler overturned in the area near Glen’s Mart, prompting law enforcement to block access while crews responded to the scene and worked to clear the vehicle.
The Vinton Police Department later confirmed that Center Street at Gum Cove Road is now open, and normal traffic flow has resumed in the area. No additional details were immediately released about the cause of the incident, possible injuries, or how long the cleanup took before the roadway could safely reopen.
The closure affected drivers traveling through that portion of Vinton, including those accessing nearby businesses. With the roadway now open, motorists can once again use Center Street at Gum Cove Road in front of Glen’s Mart without detours.
