Sulphur, Louisiana – The Sulphur Parks and Recreation department has announced that the Center Circle pool will be closed this weekend, November 2-3, 2024, due to water temperatures that have failed to rise enough. Despite warmer temperatures in the region, the pool’s water temperature has remained stubbornly low, fluctuating in the low 70s.

As a result, the pool will be closed to the public for the remainder of the weekend. However, the Center Circle splash pad and park will remain open, offering visitors an alternative way to enjoy the outdoors.

Meanwhile, the inside pools at the Recreation and Aquatic Center will be open on Saturday from 8am to 1:45pm and on Sunday from 1pm to 4:45pm. This offers swimmers an alternative option to enjoy some aquatic activities, albeit in a different location.

The decision to close the Center Circle pool is likely to be a disappointment to some, but it is a necessary step to ensure the comfort and safety of pool users. Water temperatures in the low 70s can be uncomfortable for many people, and may even pose health risks for certain individuals.
