Camp Beauregard WMA Renamed Esler Field WMA Announced by Louisiana Army National Guard and Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries

The Louisiana Army National Guard (LANG) and the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) have jointly announced a significant update regarding the Camp Beauregard Wildlife Management Area (WMA) in Louisiana. Effective immediately, the WMA will be renamed as Esler Field WMA. This decision was prompted by LANG’s recent declaration to re-designate Camp Beauregard as the Louisiana National Guard Training Center-Pineville.

The Esler Field WMA spans Rapides and Grant parishes, encompassing an expansive area of 12,500 acres. Situated adjacent to the Training Center, this vast land serves as a crucial training facility for LANG. Furthermore, it operates in close collaboration with LDWF to effectively manage the habitat for wildlife and preserve the region’s precious wildlife resources. To access the WMA, individuals can conveniently utilize major routes such as Louisiana Highway 116 and U.S. Highway 165.
