Calcasieu Parish Water Districts 5 and 12 Hydrant Testing to Begin November 21
Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana – The Calcasieu Parish Police Jury announced on November 17, 2022, that Utiliserve, a contractor contracted by Water Districts 5 and 12, will begin performing fire hydrant inspections, flushing, and testing on Monday, November 21.
These operations ensure that all hydrants are operational and that the districts’ Property Insurance Association of Louisiana fire insurance rating is met.
This procedure may result in discolored water in the areas being flushed. If you encounter Utiliserve crews in your area, the districts recommend decreasing your home’s water use as much as possible. This will reduce the likelihood of discolored water in your home.
If you notice discolored water in your home, run the faucet for two minutes to check if the discolored water clears. If this does not resolve the issue, contact the districts at 337-721-3754, and they will take steps to flush the discolored water from the lines. Residents can also phone this number and ask for Carie Davis if they have any questions or concerns.
