Calcasieu Parish Utility Work to Cause Partial Lane Closure on Big Lake Road South of Lake Charles

Lake Charles, Louisiana – Motorists traveling on LA 384 (Big Lake Road) Southbound in Calcasieu Parish south of Lake Charles are advised to expect delays due to roadwork scheduled for Tuesday, November 12. The utility work, set to take place from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, will result in a partial lane closure, with the right lane being affected.

The roadwork zone is approximately 0.19 miles long, spanning from 0.51 miles north of Reon Road to 0.32 miles north of Reon Road. Drivers should exercise caution and be prepared to merge into the left lane to navigate through the area.

While the road will not be completely closed, the partial lane closure may cause congestion and slow traffic. Motorists are advised to plan their route accordingly, allowing for extra time to reach their destination.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LADOTD) reminds drivers to follow all posted signs and directions from traffic control personnel to ensure their safety and the safety of the workers performing the utility work.
