At roughly 8:00 p.m. on September 27th, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies received a report regarding a threatening statement made by a student at Moss Bluff Middle School earlier that day. Upon conducting their initial investigation, deputies determined that an 11-year-old boy had allegedly informed another student not to attend school the next day as he intended to blow up the school.

Subsequently, detectives were able to locate the accused at his residence and, following an interview conducted in the presence of a guardian, he was taken into custody and charged with menacing.

The Calcasieu Parish School Board provided assistance during the course of the investigation. Leading the ongoing probe is CPSO Detective Cody Ferguson.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
