Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office to Participate in Nationwide “Click It or Ticket” Campaign Beginning November 19
Lake Charles, Louisiana – The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office announced on November 17, 2022, that it will participate in the nationwide “Click It or Ticket” initiative with grant funds from the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission.
The program was designed in an effort to save lives by increasing seat belt use awareness. This campaign, which runs from November 19 to November 26, includes the Thanksgiving holiday. During this campaign, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office will have more deputies on the road, targeting people who are not wearing seatbelts.
CPSO indicated that according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration study, more than half of the passengers who died in crashes in 2020 were unrestrained. “Buckling up is the single most effective thing you can do to protect yourself in a crash,” stated Calcasieu Sheriff Tony Mancuso.
