Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office to Host 2021 Special Olympics Law Enforcement Torch Run

From the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office – The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office will host the 2021 Louisiana Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) Thursday, May 13, beginning at the Calcasieu Parish Regional Law Enforcement Training Academy at 8:00 a.m. and ending at the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office, both in Lake Charles, for a distance of approximately 3 miles.
 
The LETR for Special Olympics is an international series of torch relays, run by law enforcement officers leading up to each state or nation’s Special Olympic Summer Games. The LETR is the largest year-round grassroots fundraiser for Special Olympics and all funds raised here go toward supporting Special Olympics Louisiana. Special Olympics is a not-for-profit organization offering year-round training and competition for athletes with intellectual disabilities.
 
The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office is the hosting agency for the Southwest Region Torch Run, which is comprised of law enforcement officers from Calcasieu, Cameron, Beauregard, and Jeff Davis Parishes.
