Lake Charles, Louisiana - An investigation was launched on February 27 by the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office Detectives into Deputy Brian Dugas, 57, from Lake Charles, Louisiana following a complaint regarding alleged indecent behavior with a juvenile.

In the course of the investigation, detectives discovered that Dugas had engaged in numerous sexually inappropriate discussions with juveniles.

Recently, Dugas was taken into custody and processed at the Calcasieu Correctional Center for allegedly committing 4 instances of indecent behavior with a juvenile. His bond amount had not been determined at the time this was published.

Before being fired on March 14, 2024, Dugas was employed as a School Resource Officer and had been a member of the department since 2019.

Sheriff Tony Mancuso stated that this kind of behavior will never be accepted within their department, and their deputies will always be responsible for their actions. He described Dugas' actions as repulsive and a source of shame for their department and profession. Upon receiving the complaint, Dugas was immediately removed from his position at the school pending the completion of the investigation.

Detective Jeff Atkinson from the CPSO Special Victims Unit is heading the investigation for this case.

A photo of the suspect was not available at the time this was published.
