Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office Recovers Body Near Burnout Bridge in Vinton, Investigation Underway

Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana - On November 30, 2023, at 4 pm, detectives from the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office were present near Burnout Bridge on Old Highway 90 in Vinton after a body was discovered in the area.

Earlier on November 30, around 1:30 pm, CPSO received a report about a possible body in the waterway near Burnout Bridge. The CPSO Marine Division arrived and successfully retrieved the body. It is currently unclear whether foul play was involved due to the early stages of the investigation.

The inquiry is ongoing, and further details will be shared as they become available. The cause of death will be determined by the coroner.
