Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana – Detectives from the property crimes division of the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office are currently looking into a series of burglaries that have taken place in various areas of Calcasieu Parish, such as Vinton, Carlyss, Sulphur, and Iowa.
Detectives have looked into 16 burglaries that occurred between December 2022 and January 2024. Upon further investigation, they discovered that the burglaries had several similarities. The incidents took place during the daytime in rural areas where homes were located further back on the property, making it hard to see the backdoor or carport from the street. Once inside, the suspects spent less than five minutes in the homes, focusing on stealing firearms, money, jewelry, and safes using a particular method.
