Lake Charles, Louisiana – On June 16 at approximately 11:30 a.m., deputies from the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office were sent to a home on Santa Anna Drive in Moss Bluff after receiving reports of a man who had died.
Upon arrival at the residence, deputies found 52-year-old David P. Savoie from DeQuincy, Louisiana dead inside. The detectives concluded that he was the victim of a homicide and identified Enrique D. Ruano II, 29, from Lake Charles, Louisiana, as a person of interest. Judge Tony Fazzio issued a warrant for Ruano’s arrest following an investigation. On the morning of June 17, detectives located Ruano at a local hospital, where he was arrested and taken into custody. He will be charged with 2nd-degree murder and booked into the Calcasieu Parish Correctional Center, with a bond set at $650,000.
The inquiry is still in progress, and the coroner will ultimately identify the reason for the death.
Larry Cormier, a violent crimes detective with the CPSO, is in charge of investigating this case.
An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
