Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office Investigates Deadly Sulphur Crash Involving Motorized Bicycle on High Hope Road

Sulphur, Louisiana - A fatal crash occurred on High Hope Road near Ash Drive in Sulphur, Louisiana on July 24, resulting in the death of 31-year-old Wesley A. Henry of Lake Charles, Louisiana. The incident took place around 8:45 p.m. when Henry, who was riding a motorized bicycle, was struck from behind by a car.

According to the initial investigation, Henry was riding his motorized bike in the middle of the roadway on High Hope Road when the collision occurred. Unfortunately, Henry was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office (CPSO) is currently investigating the incident. As part of their standard protocol, the driver of the car underwent field sobriety testing, and impairment was ruled out as a contributing factor.

CPSO Sgt. Kerrick Gabriel, Jr. is leading the investigation into the crash. The incident remains under investigation, and further details will be released as they become available.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged.
