Lake Charles, Louisiana – The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office (CPSO) will be conducting Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT) at the LCB Academy in Lake Charles, Louisiana, from Monday, July 29, to Friday, August 2. This training is designed to prepare law enforcement officers and first responders to effectively handle active shooter situations, ensuring the safety and security of the community, especially with the upcoming school year.
Members of the community have been advised not to be alarmed if they notice a significant presence of CPSO deputies and equipment in the area during the training period. The ALERRT program is a nationally recognized training that covers critical aspects such as tactics, operations, and integrated response strategies.
According to Sheriff Tony Guillory, this comprehensive training is essential to ensure that deputies are well-prepared to protect our community.
The ALERRT program is a vital component of the CPSO’s efforts to ensure public safety, and the training will provide law enforcement officers with the necessary skills and knowledge to respond effectively in emergency situations.
