Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office Arrests Sam Houston High School Student for BB Gun at School

From CPSO – On December 3, 2020, at approximately 8:00 a.m. a Calcasieu Parish School Resource Officer was informed by several different sources that a 15-year-old student possibly had a gun in his backpack. The SRO, along with school personnel, detained the student and after a search of his backpack, a BB gun, which looked similar to a real firearm, was located.
The student was booked in the Juvenile Detention Center and charged with illegal possession of a dangerous weapon on school property.
CPSO School Resource Officer Cpl. Bobby Benjamin and Detective Greg Jordan are the lead investigators on this case.
