From Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office – On September 26, 2019, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a care facility in Lake Charles regarding unauthorized transactions from the business’s account. Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the complainant who stated they conducted a monthly audit of the facilities bank account and learned between September 9 – 20 there was over $10,000 of unauthorized transactions.

During further investigation detectives obtained a transaction summary and learned some of the charges were made from PayPal and Facebook with an account name of Lamikaa D. Wilkins, 42, 205 Contour Drive, Lake Charles. Detectives learned Wilkins was an employee at the care facility and was in charge of making purchases for the facility.

On September 28 Wilkins was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with theft over $5,000 but less than $25,000. She was released later the same day on a $10,000 ROR bond set by Judge Sharon Wilson.

CPSO Detective Joshua Couch is the lead investigator on this case.
