On May 20 at approximately 3:00 a.m. Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a home on Morning Glory Lane in Westlake in reference to a shooting. When deputies arrived and spoke with the residents, Keyshawn J. Bias, 22, and Chelci R. Richard, 22, both of 414 Morning Glory Lane, Westlake, they stated they were inside their home when they heard shots coming from outside. Detectives arrived at the scene and observed damage to a Chevy Malibu and the home, both of which had been shot numerous times. During the initial investigation, detectives learned the Malibu at the home was possibly connected to two other drive-by shootings that had occurred the previous night.
Detectives were able to identify the suspects responsible for the drive-by shooting on Morning Glory Lane as Wilson D. Leblanc, Jr., 20, 128 Calcasieu Street; Kadi E. Spikes, 17, 4016 Harvard Street; Diomond D. Duncan, 20, 418 N. Booker Street; Torrianna J. Bolster, 18, 401 S. Cherry Street; and a 16 year old juvenile, all of Lake Charles.
During further investigation, it was learned Bias and Richard were in the Chevy Malibu and were responsible for shooting at a Nissan Sentra occupied by Leblanc, Spikes, Duncan, Bolster, and the juvenile the previous night at Huber Park in Lake Charles. A short time later, after the shooting at Huber Park, the two cars were then shooting at each other at Brentwood Park in Lake Charles; which ultimately led to the occupants in the Sentra shooting at the home on Morning Glory Lane.
Between May 21 and 31 everyone involved in the drive-by shootings, except Bias, was arrested. The juvenile was booked into the Juvenile Detention Center and all others were booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center. Richard is charged with aggravated assault by drive-by shooting; and illegal use of weapons or dangerous instrumentalities. Her bond is set at $250,000. Leblanc, Spikes, Duncan, Bolster, and the juvenile are all charged with aggravated assault by drive-by shooting; aggravated criminal property damage; and illegal use of weapons or dangerous instrumentalities. Leblanc’s bond is set at $500,000; Spikes’ bond is set at $250,000; Duncan’s and Bolster’s bonds are set at $450,000; the juvenile has no bond set at this time.
Detectives are attempting to locate Bias, who has an active warrant in the amount of $250,000 set by Judge David Ritchie for aggravated assault by drive-by shooting; and illegal use of weapons or dangerous instrumentalities. The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office is asking the public for assistance in locating him; if anyone knows his whereabouts, please call the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office at 491-3605 or Crime Stoppers at 439-2222.
CPSO Detective Travis Mier is the lead investigator on this case.
