Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office Arrests 3 for Vehicle Burglaries, One for Possession of Stolen Property

Three have been arrested in Lake Charles for vehicle burglaries in the area of Gulf Highway. One person was also arrested for possession of stolen property.
From CPSO – On April 15 Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office VCIU detectives responded to several complaints of vehicle burglaries in a neighborhood off Gulf Highway in Lake Charles. During the initial investigation, detectives were able to obtain surveillance video from the area showing three suspects, driving a black car, entering unlocked vehicles.
A short time later detectives, with the assistance of the CPSO Real Time Crime Center, were able to obtain the registration for the car seen in the video surveillance. Detectives made contact with the owner of the car, Janaysha R. Seymore, 21, 1900 Prejean Drive, Lake Charles, at her home. When detectives arrived at the home they also made contact with two men, later identified as Kentrell J. Dunn, 19, and Coby J. Simon, 20, both of 4249 5th Avenue, Lake Charles. After receiving consent to search the residence detectives located most of the stolen property that been taken from the vehicle burglaries off Gulf Highway in Lake Charles.
After further investigation and questioning it was learned Dunn and Simon, along with a 16-year-old juvenile were responsible for the vehicle burglaries. Detectives also discovered they had brought the stolen property back to Seymore’s residence and she had knowledge that the property had been stolen.
Later the same day Seymore, Dunn and Simon were arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center. Seymore is charged with possession of stolen things $1,000 – $5,000. Dunn is charged with 4 counts of simple burglary; theft of a firearm; possession of a firearm by a convicted felon; 2 counts of theft less than $1,000; theft $1,000 to $5,000; and simple criminal damage to property. Simon is charged with simple burglary; theft of a firearm; possession of marijuana; criminal damage to property; and theft $1,000 to $5,000. Judge Michael Canaday set Seymore’s bond at $5,000, Dunn’s bond at $187,500, and Simon’s bond at $63,500. The juvenile was also arrested and booked into the Juvenile Detention Center and charged with 4 counts of simple burglary; theft of a firearm; 2 counts of theft less than $1,000; theft $1,000 to $5,000; and simple criminal damage to property.
Detectives also located 2 stolen guns at the residence.
The investigations are still pending and more charges are possible.
