Calcasieu Parish Sheriff Deputy Terminated After Refusing to Cooperate with Internal Investigation

From CPSO – Sunday, October 4, 2020, at approximately 9:30 p.m. Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested CPSO Deputy Melissa Romero for DWI 1st refusal after an investigation into a single-vehicle crash involving a marked CPSO unit, while she was off-duty, near the intersection of E. Burton Street and Goodley Road in Sulphur.
Melissa worked as a Corporal on Patrol and had been with the department for approximately 14 years before being terminated by Sheriff Tony Mancuso today after refusing to cooperate in the Internal Affairs investigation.
The City of Sulphur has asked residents to conserve water due to scheduled maintenance at the Verdine Water Plant.
Beauregard Electric customers near Sulphur should expect to be without power for most of the day October 16 due to a planned outage for repairs.
