Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana – According to a recent announcement, the Calcasieu Parish School Board is closely monitoring the traffic situation in the western portions of the parish, where roadways are beginning to reopen after a recent incident on I-10 that caused traffic to be diverted to other roadways. However, the school board anticipates continued traffic delays, which may affect the transportation of students. As a result, Vinton and Starks schools will be dismissed at 1 p.m., and buses will begin their routes at the same time. Parents who wish to pick up their children before the scheduled dismissal time are welcome to do so. The school board has ensured that all students will be fed lunch prior to dismissal.
The decision to dismiss schools early is a precautionary measure, taken to ensure the safety and well-being of students, who may be affected by the traffic delays. The Calcasieu Parish School Board is working to minimize the impact of the traffic situation on the students’ daily routine, while also prioritizing their safety.
