Lake Charles, Louisiana – A section of Tom Hebert Road in Calcasieu Parish will be closed temporarily to facilitate a bridge reconstruction project, the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury announced. The closure, which will last for nearly 10 months, is set to begin on September 30 and will conclude on July 21, 2025.
The affected area is located south of the intersection with E. Lincoln Road. The closure will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily during the project’s duration. Motorists are advised to expect delays and exercise caution when navigating the area.
The bridge reconstruction project aims to improve the safety and structural integrity of the existing bridge. The extended closure will allow construction crews to work on the bridge without interruptions, minimizing the risk of incidents and ensuring a smoother workflow.
While the closure may cause inconvenience to commuters, the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury urges drivers to plan ahead and explore alternative routes to minimize disruptions to their daily routines. The police jury also reminds drivers to remain vigilant and cautious when approaching the construction zone to prevent crashes and ensure a safe passage for all road users.
