Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana – The Human Services Department of the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury is requesting the residents of Calcasieu Parish to take part in a survey known as the Community Needs Assessment. The purpose of this survey is to gather feedback on the department’s services and determine the extent to which it is fulfilling the demands of the community.

In order to participate, residents have the option to access the survey digitally by visiting calcasieu.gov/cna. The survey will inquire about factors that contribute to poverty and obstacles that hinder households from bettering their socio-economic circumstances.

Erika Doshier, the Manager of Human Services Programs, encourages people to participate in the 2024 Community Needs Assessment to have a say in the direction of the CPPJ Human Services Programs. By providing feedback, individuals can help identify authentic community needs and enhance the allocation of grant funding.

The Police Jury is open to receiving survey responses until March 31, 2024.

The assessment is conducted by Human Services every three years in accordance with the Community Services Block Grant statute.

According to Doshier, the outcomes of the Community Needs Assessment will be utilized to assess existing services, pinpoint any deficiencies in services, and establish new potential programs to address those deficiencies.

To obtain more information, you can either visit the website calcasieu.gov/cnaproject or contact Human Services at 337-721-4030.
