Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana - Calcasieu Parish residents are being asked to share their thoughts on the parish's transportation network by participating in a survey that will help update the Calcasieu Parish Master Transportation Thoroughfare Plan (MTTP). The survey, which is being conducted by the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury's Division of Engineering and Public Works, aims to gather feedback on traffic concerns in unincorporated areas of the parish.

The MTTP, which was adopted in 2006 and last updated in 2011, provides a long-term vision for parish-wide transportation improvement, focusing on roadways, freight, non-motorized transport, and safety. The plan serves as a guide for the parish to prioritize transportation projects and allocate resources.

The survey, which can be completed online at calcasieu.gov/transportationsurvey, includes questions on transportation conditions that impact residents, as well as parish transportation challenges, goals, and ideas for the future. The survey is designed to help reevaluate the performance of the transportation network, adjust street designations as needed, and evaluate the rights-of-way preservation for parish thoroughfares.

According to Leroy Skellham, CPPJ Traffic Engineer, the survey is an opportunity for residents to share their thoughts on current transportation issues and suggest improvements. "By taking the time to participate in this survey, you can help us understand the needs and priorities of our community," Skellham said. "Your feedback will play a crucial role in guiding our planning efforts to create a more effective and accessible transportation network for everyone."

The survey will be available online until Friday, November 11. Residents can also contact the Engineering department at 337-721-4100 for more information.

The Calcasieu Parish Police Jury's Division of Engineering and Public Works is encouraging all residents to participate in the survey, as their input will be invaluable in shaping the future of the parish's transportation network. By sharing their thoughts and concerns, residents can help create a safer and more efficient transportation system that benefits everyone.

The survey is a chance for residents to have their voices heard and contribute to the planning process. By taking a few minutes to complete the survey, residents can help shape the future of Calcasieu Parish's transportation network.
