Calcasieu Parish Residents Can Now Pay 2024 Property Taxes Online or In Person

Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana – Calcasieu Parish Sheriff Stitch Guillory has announced that the 2024 property tax notices are being mailed to residents. Taxpayers can choose from various payment methods, including online payment through the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office website or the new Calcasieu app.

For those who prefer to pay online, they can visit the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office website at www.cpso.com/pay-taxes/ and use a Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express card. Additionally, taxpayers can also view and print their bill from the website.

Residents who prefer to pay in person can visit the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Tax Office, located at 1011 Lakeshore Drive, Suite 100, in Lake Charles. The office is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and payments can be made using cash, check, money order, cashier’s check, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover.

Another option for in-person payment is the CPSO Sulphur (West Cal) Law Enforcement Center, located at 1525 Cypress Street in Sulphur. This location is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and accepts payments by check, money order, cashier’s check, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. However, cash is not accepted at this location.

For the convenience of taxpayers, the Calcasieu Parish Tax Collector’s Office will also have representatives collecting 2024 property taxes at various locations around the parish. These locations include:

  • DeQuincy LEC, 618 E. Center St., DeQuincy, on Tuesday, December 10, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
  • Vinton LEC, 1302 Center St., Vinton, on Wednesday, December 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
  • Moss Bluff LEC, 115 Bronco Lane, Moss Bluff, on Thursday, December 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Residents can make payments at these locations using cash, check, money order, cashier’s check, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover.

For questions about payment, taxpayers can contact the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office Tax Division at (337) 491-3680. For information about assessment, address changes, and homestead, residents can contact the Calcasieu Parish Tax Assessor’s Office at (337) 721-3000.

The deadline to pay 2024 property taxes without incurring interest or penalties is December 31, 2024. Any payments received after this date will be subject to a 1% interest charge per month, as well as additional costs mandated by the Louisiana Revised Statutes.
