Calcasieu Parish Police Jury’s Division of Planning and Development Moving Back to Permanent Office
Published March 15, 2021
The Calcasieu Parish Police Jury’s Planning Department has been operating out of a temporary office at Prien Lake Park since Hurricane Laura but is now returning to their office located at 901 Lakeshore Drive on the 5th floor.
All permits, licensing, and planning staff from Calcasieu Parish Police Jury’s Division of Planning and Development will move back to 901 Lakeshore Drive, fifth floor, on Monday, March 22.
On that date, the office will issue permits for development, licenses for businesses, and zoning requests for the parish’s unincorporated areas at the 901 Lakeshore facility. Office hours are 8 a.m.- 5 p.m. Monday-Friday.
Planning and Development temporarily relocated to Prien Lake Park’s Harbor’s Edge Pavilion in early September of 2020 because of the damage the Planning and Development offices sustained during Hurricane Laura.
“I appreciate Calcasieu Parish Police Jury Facility Management Department working diligently after the hurricanes assisting my department with temporary office facilities at Prien Lake Park,” said Wes Crain, Director of the Division of Planning and Development. “Since then, they have helped provide a safe working environment at 901 Lakeshore Drive so that my staff can operate out of one facility to assist our citizens more efficiently. This is another step closer to getting our community back to normal operations.”
Due to ongoing COVID-19 regulations, all residents must wear masks when entering the facility and practice social distancing. Customers who cannot wear masks are invited to send representatives to the facility or use the online Citizen Self-Service portal at www.calcasieuparish.gov/permits. Residents are also encouraged to use this link to obtain or check the status of permits or licenses.
