Alligator Park Closed Due to Flooding

The Calcasieu Parish Police Jury has reported that Alligator Park is now closed due to flooding. The National Weather Service has also indicated that significant flooding is expected along portions of the Sabine and Calcasieu rivers in coming days.

CPPJ has indicated that Police Jury staff will continue to monitor the condition of the park and it will reopen when floodwaters recede and cleanup is complete. At this time, the park is expected to reopen Monday, Jan. 14.

The park was damaged by flooding in 2016 and 2017. It reopened in August of 2018.

At this time, no other parks are expected to close.

Residents with questions are asked to call Calcasieu Parish Police Jury Facility Management at 337-721-3540.
