Calcasieu Parish Police Jury Issues Notification about Water Pressure in Some Areas of the Parish

Published February 17, 2021

The Calcasieu Parish Police Jury is asking some residents to conserve water due to low pressure in parts of the parish.

From CPPJ – Many of the various water systems in Calcasieu Parish are struggling with low water pressure due to the power outages experienced in the winter weather. Officials with Waterworks District One in Moss Bluff and Waterworks District Five of Wards 3 and 8 are asking customers to please conserve water and to turn off faucets that have been dripping to prevent freezing pipes. Temperatures are above freezing so there is no longer a threat to pipes.

Conservation efforts will assist the Districts to return to normal water pressure.

Note: Temperatures are expected to possibly dip below freezing again in the coming days and residents should take proper precautions at that time.
