Calcasieu Parish Police Jury Holiday Hours and Waste Management Schedule Changes

Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana - The Calcasieu Parish Police Jury has announced that all departments will be closed on Thursday, November 28, and Friday, November 29, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. The offices will reopen on Monday, December 2, at their regular hours.

Waste Management will also be closed on Thanksgiving Day, resulting in changes to the regular pickup schedule for customers. Residents with Thursday pickups will have their garbage and trash collected on Friday, while those with Friday pickups will be serviced on Saturday. In addition to the department closures and schedule changes, the Solid Waste Convenience Centers will also be closed on Thursday, November 28. The centers, located at 5500 B Swift Plant Road in Lake Charles and 2915 Post Oak Road in Sulphur, will reopen on Friday, November 29, at 7 a.m.

Residents are advised to plan ahead and take note of the revised schedule to ensure that their waste is disposed of properly. The holiday closures and schedule changes are intended to allow employees to observe the Thanksgiving holiday and spend time with their families.
