The Calcasieu Parish School Board announced on May 4 that they plan to hold in-person graduation ceremonies for the local high school classes of 2020. All graduation ceremonies are currently planned to be held at Matt Walker Memorial Stadium at Sulphur High School. The School Board indicates that they have chosen the location in Sulphur because it offers a safe and comfortable environment, as well as gives the ability to live stream the ceremony since the equipment is already in place for the Student Television Production program, CPSB-TV.
Live streams of the ceremonies will be available on the CPSB-TV Facebook page and archived for future viewing.
In the coming days, graduates will receive four tickets each to give to people they would like to attend the ceremony. The tickets will be distributed by each high school. Only visitors with tickets will be allowed to attend.
Plans are subject to change depending on the Governor’s timeline for safety regulations.
