Calcasieu Parish Man Arrested On Multiple Sexual Battery Charges Involving Child Under 13**

Lake Charles, Louisiana - The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office has arrested a 61-year-old Lake Charles man after a child under the age of 13 reported ongoing sexual abuse, according to information released by detectives.

On December 15, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives responded to a local hospital regarding a sexual abuse complaint. During the investigation, the victim, who is under 13, reported that Michael C. Landry of Lake Charles had been sexually abusing her since she was young.

Detectives with the Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit (SVU) continued the investigation and obtained a search warrant for Landry’s home. During the search, investigators located evidence that, according to the Sheriff’s Office, corroborated the child’s statement given to detectives.

Landry was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center. He is charged with four counts of felony sexual battery and one count of misdemeanor sexual battery.

Judge Lee Hoffoss set Landry’s bond at $550,000.

CPSO SVU Detective Cody Ferguson is listed as the lead investigator on the case.

All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
