Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has announced a series of intermittent shoulder closures on Interstate 10 (I-10) in both eastbound and westbound directions. These closures are set to begin on Monday, February 24, 2025, and will extend through Thursday, February 27, 2025. The work will then resume on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, and continue until Monday, March 24, 2025.
During this period, the right and left shoulders of I-10 Eastbound will be closed from Prater Road/Bayou D’Inde Pass Road to Kirkman Street. Similarly, the right and left shoulders of I-10 Westbound will be closed from Kirkman Street back to Prater Road/Bayou D’Inde Pass Road. In addition, all corresponding service roads in these areas will also experience closures.
These closures are necessary to facilitate a range of essential repairs and maintenance activities. Crews will be conducting guardrail and cable barrier repairs, inspecting and repairing bridges, and performing roadway inspections. Furthermore, drainage repair and maintenance will be carried out, along with traffic sign repairs or replacements. Additional tasks include mowing, debris pickup, and inspections and repairs of roadway lighting.
Motorists are advised to plan their travel accordingly and be prepared for potential delays in these areas.
