Lake Charles, Louisiana - Approximately 50 employers will gather with job seekers at the Quarterly Job Fair hosted by the American Job Center – Region V on Wednesday, October 8, from 9:30 a.m. to noon at the Lake Charles Event Center's Buccaneer Room, located at 900 Lakeshore Drive.

The event provides employers and job seekers an opportunity to meet face-to-face and conduct on-site interviews. Veterans will receive priority services, with exclusive access to employers beginning at 9 a.m., 30 minutes before the general public arrives.

"Attending a job fair is not just about finding a job; it's about connecting with opportunities and discovering the potential paths that can shape your future," said Stephanie Seemion, Workforce Development Board Director #51. "It's where ambition meets possibility."

Job seekers should arrive in business attire and bring a picture identification and multiple copies of their current resume. The Louisiana Workforce Commission's Mobile Workforce Center will be available on-site to assist with resume writing, job search strategies, online applications, skills assessments and additional services.

Organizers recommend arriving early to maximize opportunities to meet with participating employers. Pre-registration is not required for job seekers.

Employers interested in participating can register at no cost, though pre-registration is mandatory. Registration is available at https://regionvquarterlyjobfair10825.splashthat.com/.

The Region V American Job Center serves six parishes: Allen, Beauregard, Calcasieu, Cameron, Jefferson Davis and Vernon. The Calcasieu Parish Police Jury sponsors the job fair in partnership with the Workforce Development Board and the Louisiana Workforce Commission. Funding comes from the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, a federal program designed to help job seekers access employment, education, training and support services.

Individuals seeking additional information about the job fair can contact the American Job Center at 337-721-4010 or email [email protected].

The quarterly event represents one of the largest job fairs in the region, bringing together diverse industries and employment opportunities for residents across southwest Louisiana.
