Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana – The Calcasieu Parish Police Jury’s TRIAD Network is set to host two informative workshops aimed at senior residents this March. Dubbed the “Lucky Lunch and Learn” workshops, these events will provide valuable information on topics such as insurance, social security benefits, and other pertinent issues affecting seniors.
The first workshop will take place on Monday, March 17, at the Sulphur Senior Center, located at 601 Maple St. in Sulphur. The second workshop is scheduled for Tuesday, March 18, at the Lake Charles Senior Center, situated at 1530 Fifth St. in Lake Charles. Both workshops will run from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Participants can look forward to a complimentary lunch provided during both sessions, making it an inviting opportunity for seniors to learn and connect with others in their community. The events are organized by the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury’s Human Services Department in partnership with Calcasieu Parish TRIAD. This collaboration includes several local organizations, such as the Calcasieu Council on Aging, Better Business Bureau, and Louisiana AARP, among others.
The TRIAD program focuses on identifying and developing initiatives that address the unique needs of senior citizens. Its primary goal is to reduce the likelihood of seniors becoming victims of crimes while also enhancing their quality of life through educational opportunities.
While there is no fee to attend these workshops, seating is limited. Interested participants are encouraged to pre-register by calling 337-721-4030, ext. 5040, to secure their spot.
